How to Connect to and Use Odyssey

We are excited that you will join us on this adventure with one of the most visually stunning Metaverse platform on the market. Here are a few tips to get you started.

  • 1. This is a remote computer browser-based experience. This means the platform does not run on your computer, but on a remote one (unfortunately VR headsets are not supported yet).

    2. You will need at least 30Mbp/s down the internet speed (same as Zoom).

    3. Chrome Browser works best.

    4. Use a mouse to look and move around (keyboard is an option too).

    5. Make sure you have just a few or no other browsers open.

    6. Plan to arrive early to practice and set up your avatar if you like.

  • 1. Receive a link in an email or from a website. Click the link.

    2. Create your avatar

    3. The chat is at the bottom left of your screen

    4. Audio, video controls and other settings are on the top right of your screen

    Left click and drag to look around

    Scroll to zoom the camera in/out

    Movement

    Move by double left-clicking anywhere on the ground

    You can also use the W, A, S, D keys to move

    Running & Walking

    Press Shift to toggle running/walking

  • The metaverse is the hypothesized next iteration of the internet, supporting decentralized, persistent online 3D virtual environments.

  • VR allows total immersion in a virtual environment with a headset that completely replaces the user’s view.

  • AR creates augmented elements to add to existing reality. Smart handhelds are the most common hardware for this medium.

  • XR is an all-encompassing term that includes VR and AR.
